Mary Jo Putney's "No Longer a Gentleman" - #4 in the Lost Lords series
The first half of the book is great, especially the first love scene, which is brilliant. The second half was a disappointment. And what is it with Mary Jo Putney and her urge to have her heroines be lost heiresses? Actually, the lost heiress aspect is almost plausible in this book, but since I've seen it so many other times in Putney's books, I just groaned when I saw it in this one.
