Judith James' "Libertine's Kiss"

Libertine's Kiss - Judith James

Fabulous book. So many things to love about it - the hero, the heroine, the Restoration setting and the descriptions of King Charles, his mistresses and his court, as well as his beloved spaniels, the literary references from Edmund Spenser's "The Faerie Queen" and how they were woven into the story, the quotes from the Earl of Rochester's satiric and witty rhymes (and how they were woven seamlessly into the story as well), the love scenes! Beautifully written, great characters, great scenes, great story - what's not to love?
