Laura Lee Guhrke's "Guilty Pleasures"

Guilty Pleasures - Laura Lee Guhrke

Loved it! Beautiful straight character-driven romance (my favourite kind), with terrific scenes and interaction between the hero and heroine (my favourite is the one where Daphne announces to the duke that she is leaving his employ because she doesn't like him, and really gives him a piece of her mind). Very strong historical feeling, too, with respect for the social mores and language of the period, the descriptions of the archeological digs on the duke's estate, and the wonderful use of the "Language of Flowers" in the hero's courtship of Daphne.

My first, but not last, read by this author, whom I would compare very favourably to Mary Balogh, in this book at least.
