Not as enjoyable as the second book in this series, The Soldier. The love scenes are extremely hot, but the love story itself didn't convince me. For some reason I couldn't *feel* the emotional connection between them apart from the love scenes (although the hero's treatment of the heroine in the love scenes is just dreamy wonderful).
I didn't like the subplot with the evil brother, nor could I understand why Anna refuses to trust Westhaven with her problems once she realizes that she loves him and he declares, multiple times, that he wants to marry her, protect her and help her.
Oh well - on to The Virtuoso - hope it redeems my appreciation of Grace Burrowes' writing.
